Don't feel bad, I did the same thing. I just fired up the saw and cut them all down to 8 5/8, and then down to mediums. Oops.

Very nice!
What cutters are you using?
I built a top bar hive a couple of years ago, and decided instead to use langstroth equipment.
If you live in SE South Dakota, SW Minnesota, or NW Iowa, and would like to come pick it up, it's all...
I bought queens last year from a local guy, and he used jzs bzs cages with a jzs bzs bar shown at this link:

I like the frame storage cleats. Nice idea!

13 of 14 survived winter! :)
I added some temporary bars to a medium, and added my mini frames. The pics below show the medium ready to go, and a mini frame drawn out.

I made a video of me assembling frames. I built the jig from the myoldtools website.
Hope it helps.

Thanks.
The thermostat is just a simple switch, no power required.
I do not know what the dead band is.
I put together a heated Coates nuc, for transporting queen cells, grafts, frames of brood, incubating ripe cells, etc. etc.
Maybe I'll insulate it, hinge the top, and put a hasp on it too.

Smoker toter.
I haven't tried it yet, but I plan on lining it with aluminum flashing.

@westernbeekeeper:
Soak the rods in warm water for a couple of hours, and they come right off.
I made some wax cups once, and the bees wrecked them all, while in the "polishing" phase. I switched to JZBZ cups after that.

Mine are the "regulars" in the beesource.com chat room, and all of the "youtube" beekeepers who share their wisdom. I've learned a lot! I only wish Michael Bush and JP would visit chat sometime.
I couldn't sleep 1 night, so I started channel surfing, and landed on "Honey Bees and Beekeeping: A Year in the Life of an Apiary" by Dr. Keith Delaplane on RFD-TV.
I built my own equipment from...
I hope this video helps.

I have assembled with and without the jig, and I prefer using the jig.

I haven't finished my "smoker hauler" but here is a picture of what I have so far. I plan to line it with aluminum flashing.

I added some temporary frame rests to a medium for drawing out the mini's. The queen of the colony even laid eggs in a couple of the frames.
The mini frame setup in the medium box got kind of...
These are the ones I built. I have 17 of the doubles.

I've done this with un-opened bottled water, no trick.
It's science.
Try it.

I was going to try to CNC some bars out of baltic birch, but would like to know if it would have any effect the bees at all.
I'm sure there are plenty of opinions on ply in the hive, so forgive me...
