Would love to do business with you Island Apiaries...but you need to respond to your emails.
I love my Dadant jacket. I agree...no need for a full suit. I am 6'3" at it fits perfectly.
Anybody know of a source for nucs in the Puget Sound area?
Thanks
I know I can always count on MB for some sage words of advice. Thanks
I just discovered yesterday that one of my hives that was very active just a few weeks ago was completely dead. I'm kicking myself because I know I could have prevented it. It just never occurred...

We're not forecast to get any real low temps, so they will be fine. Just make sure your feeders are full and you have some weight on the hives. All will be fine.
You common sense is right on the money. Leave the reducer in place until you see a traffic jam at the entrance. This will enable the colony to protect itself until a suitable population exists.
Without an excluder, the queen will get up into the supers and lay.
What I did, was notch my excluder so that the bees have an entrance above the wire part. This allows them to get to the...
Greetings all,
I broke into my hives today because we had a break in the weather and I was concerned. I was dismayed to find that my strongest hive in September is completely dead. From what I...

Greetings all,
I am looking for some help quick. I went into my hives (double deeps) this weekend and was quite surprised to find all three had the queens still laying in the upper deep. I...
Ruben,
Where did you buy your son's suit?

I still get a chuckle out of people's reactions to bee stings. My most recent one was right on the side of my nose. The left side of my face swelled up real good. My friends and family were all in...

Definitely check local ordinances about property lines. Those look way too close to me. In our state...hives can be no closer that 25' from the property line unless behind a 6' tall fence.

Parrot man here.
2 African Greys, 1 B&G Macaw, 1 Male Solomon Island Eclectus. Lots of fun...but loads of work!!!!

My thoughts exactly. If it's got to be stored outside anyway...let the bees clean it up first.

Good looking swarm. Nice catch!!!
And this is relevant to beekeeping how?
