    If a method is not the accepted way there may be a problem. It will take them all summer to build up and probably is just a loss of a frame of brood. If you don't want honey split them june or july...

    from a commercial view I may not see a hive that has cells for another 7-10 days. there is no practical swarm control method for my situation. depending on how many cells they have I make up 3-5 nucs...

    nothing to heat. just give the frames of honey to the bees as long as its done before wax moths get into it.

    as a rule old combs get dry and brittle. If so they rebuild with drone comb. try a couple and see how they do. your best chance is during a good flow.
