Re: Queen castle vs mini mating nucs

If I was raising under a 100 Queens I would use standard frames if I was going to do over 100 I would think about mini mating
    nucs
If you think mini mating nucs look like fun go for it.

More like all worker cells and straight comb in the frames you must remember foundationless and small cell are not one of the same.

  8. Re: What is everybody charging for package bees this year

If you willing to Louisiana why not buy five frame Nucs ??

  9. Re: Oxalic acid deposits and mites - where do they meet?

In my humble opinion it really doesn't matter what chemical Abee Honey Farms got caught with it was Off label use.

  10. Re: Oxalic acid deposits and mites - where do they meet?

Your state is very true if the bees did not try to ventilate the hive. I do know every time I put smoke (etc.) into a hive the bee's are trying to ventilated out.

  12. Re: Oxalic acid deposits and mites - where do they meet?

Do you realize Adee honey farms use a unapproved chemical in their hives about 3 to 5 years ago and got fine about $13,000 for doing it.

  13. Re: Oxalic acid deposits and mites - where do they meet?

This is off label use of this product (oxalic acid)
You do realize this is not an approved method for controlling mites in the USA :s

  14. Re: New beekeeper with a few ideas and wanting advice

IMHO saving frames is nothing but snake oil.I f you are going to go with 9 frames to a box made sure the frames are drawn out before you do this. Also bee cover about 80,000 acres.
