    My kitchen bee hive. Almost done. Its been interesting, the sawdust in the food, tools on the counters etc. Good thing the dogs don't mind.

    If I get a nuc it will be a standard langstrom style witg foundation, he didn't say if wax or plastic. Been watching videos on how to put them on top of the TBH in hopes they will willingly move...

    solid vs screen bottom

    Oh boy , many sources I studied say a screen bottom allows for ventilation which in turn prevents water condensation and wet bees.
    now I am reading that closed bottoms allow for higher humidity...

    :scratch: Ok I am building a TBH and putting on a screen bottom so varroa mites will fall out of the hive and to aid ventilation.
