Anyone have any leads.
Have a dadant 20 frame bolted on a piece of plywood and then we set it on rubber mats. It keeps it from really walking. However unbalanced frames will still move it. Slow to fast. It may take...
Bottom line is not all people are allergic to honey bees. My father in law is allergic to everything buy the Honey Bee.
How can one prove it wasn't a yellow jacket that stung him?
Might want to make sure you have a place for the queen to lay in parent hive. May have a full brood chamber with nectar. You have to inspect it before pulling off supers.
What's your end game. If I was looking for more bees this is what I would do.
If you have actual swarm cells I would take one or two and put in the queenless split.
Take a your original queen...
Love the Dadant 20 frame.
Trying to locate one. Does anyone in the US sell these.
Just had to go look what it is. How many can you run off of one panel?
I assume they are going thru the quart a day for the water. Is that a possible reason. Could you just make some thick syrup that would last a little longer and make them forage for that water?
Feeding for survival or feeding for buildup?
You will find this problem from time to time with all manufactures. I have had to cut a few Dadant grooved bottoms to split bottoms to fit the wax straighter. You will buy from Mann Lake again. ...
I think those political signs that get left out work good.
Lost one a few years back. I took out all the attendants. Closed it up and was pulling the cage out of my net and boom the screen got caught and pulled the staple out. All I could do is watch...
I have used that castle for the 1st time this year. I started out using slot 1 and 3. Then expanding to a 5 frame configuration. I have used one of the queens to requeen a hive. It is really...
I like these Mann Lake feeders. You have to be careful when filling them to not drown the bees. I fill mine really slow and it allows them to move up as the syrup is coming in. If I filled up to...
Probably ok. Queen might have not emerged the day after the swarm.. She takes 7 days to really get out to mate I believe. Then she takes a few days to get laying. I would just keep a eye on it. ...
Had 3 swarms on one this season. Problem was the weather wouldn't let me do a full inspection. In the low 50's. The bee's are built up and ready to go. Nothing to do. So they Swarm.
Do you have capped worker brood?
I would keep looking. I had a have swarm and it had 4 queens yesterday. Crazy
Are you sure there wasn't at least 2 queens in the swarm?
Don't really see a issue with it. Seen it on Facebook... Scrolled right past it. You can easily delete the emails and its behind you. Never met 2 beekeepers that do and think the same.
Find a mentor... Are you near any Bee Clubs? I would reduce it down to a smaller box if I had one and Feed, feed, feed, feed, 1:1 sugar syrup. It honestly doesn't look very promising, but never give...
Turn it upside down and let gravity do its work.
