Re: What is going on with this?

Sorry, I was hoping to "cut to the chase" to see where HBH leads to EFB as you claimed above. Seems it depends on the needs of the beekeeper whether they explore some of it's (HBH) uses to find it...

FlowerPlanter: Not sure of your link, doesn't seem to go anywhere???
Also, what you list for a study in 1964 would predate Honey B Healthy I believe, so not much to go by there. Packaged bee...

Re: What is going on with this?

FlowerPlanter can you respond to this HBH thought: "The reason I asked about packages and HBH, it seems that many of EFB cases and suspected cases on beesource come from packages in the spring. And...

    Re: escape board questions

Lakebilly, bottom super means the empties go below the full above the QE's. Once they get 3 high I top super, empties on top of fulls. But to take off with escape boards they need to be full. So,...

    Re: escape board questions

I love the escape boards, but they are a little work.. I bottom super until the 3rd super goes on. So, if there's some unfilled ones you will need to manipulate a week or so and get the supers in...

Re: Combining Hives Sets Off WWIII

I think a lot has to do with the time of year. No fuss no muss earlier in the year with a flow on. Now in a dearth, end of season I don't combine other than nurse bees or just brood frames if I can...

    Re: Moonbeam stock

If you have any bees that go out before others, or seem to be the last ones in the evening, you could market those as the moonbeams. We've all got some... He got an A for marketing, the rest of us...
  9. Re: provide me with some tips on keeping Yellow Jackets away from my honey display at

I'm guessing it would be pretty similar to what we all have at the Farmers Markets. All the samples get covered up after each sample with a lid in my case. Just don't have any honey exposed or...

    Re: Robbing

I would just add to put the robbing screen on first thing in the morning before any bees are out. That at least helps with the first bees out that then come back and wonder "what the heck"!?

    Re: Robbing

Your next step should be a robbing screen if possible. And I wouldn't feed the hive until you get that addressed unless you only put on in the evening what the hive can take care of by morning.

Re: Never Treated Before- Asking Advice

Sorry, but losing 50% of his hives each year without treating shouldn't be a big surprise. We all know varroa is there, and what doesn't kill the hive this year, makes up for it next year. Good...
