    Re: Pumps and feeding

Ben, I believe I have a 6:1 ratio. It's been a while since I built it but I looked up the engine rpm and optimal rpm for gear pump for viscous material and 6:1 put me at a good rpm. If you buy a gear...

Apivar doesn't leave residues. The half life of amitraz is very short. Place the strips in the brood area.

I run this pump I built. Pump a gallon of 20% thinned syrup 55 in 7-8 seconds. 4 hp honda. Instead of running the pressure relief line back into tote, I have it running back into the main line.

Bees might not fight but they could kill the queen. Spring time we boosted up 300 wintered nucs and 10% of time they fight and kill the queen. We would open the nucs and find a ball of bees over...

Good singles will take 1 gallon overnight. How are you feeding? Do you slide your lid just so the feeder is visible or for you take each lid off. I like to have 3 guys running when feeding. 1 guy is...

I requeened some of our hives with WSU Italian stock that was imported from Italy. I like the brood they make this time of year.

Re: 9 Frames in 10 Frame Super

I run 10 in brood boxes for maximum brood and easier inspecting but 9 in honey supers. Almost no frame scratching after going through uncapper. 9 frame also gets us that extra wax from each frame.
