    Your'e in the southeast like me. I froze my clean empty comb to make sure everything was dead. I then keep them inside until I need them for the goldenrod flow ( if any).

    I'm in upstate SC (Reidville). Red maple, dandelion, camelia. I'm feeding syrup and essential oil. Lots of pollen coming in.

    I have 2 hives started from NUCs purchased May first. I am in south Carolina
    both hives now have two medium brood boxes packed full of brood and stores.

    I added a honey super on each hive...

    I purchased a Nuc this spring, The queen was presented as Hygenic. I attached a short video.

    Your video looks like a large orientaion flight. Note the swirling above the hive.

    They should stop in about 30 to 45 minutes. kind of scary huh?

    I have a lot of mountain laurel down near the creek. ( a lot) it just sits there in bloom . Honey bees will not touch it. They just seem to know better. Bumble bees are a different story.

    Never use anything on the "sticky-board" that has a SCENT. It interferes with the communication pheremone in the brood boxes.

    The full screen IPM bottom is also for mites to drop and not be able to crawl back up into the hive. A lot of bees covering the brood is the best.
