I am not an expert either, as I have only been beekeeping a couple of years. Most of my education has come from reading just about everything I can find, including this forum. I believe that the...
TCT1w,
Your videos show you not using a hive cover on top of your Hive when the fumigator is installed. The WVU article clearly has pictures of the hives with hive covers.
Might want to...
Is formic acid a treatmeant that varroa desteuctor can become resistant to? I have read of resistance being a problem with many of the other chemical treatments but there is nothing I have found to...
I only have one drawn super at this point, for three hives.
I guess I am still confused as to whether I should be feeding at this point. The flow has definitely started here in jacksonville. I...
Here is a picture if it helps take a look at what I am seeing.

So then I guess it goes to say, you don't feed with supers on, even if there is no comb on them. As a new beek would have or a crush and strain producer would have.
I think I will take that super...
I have three hives but they are all first flow hives, two of them wintered one was a strong nuc. None of them were there last spring so all my medium honey supers are foundation.
How can I tell if...
Is there a difference in the best practices of feeding when the supers need comb drawn versus just the brood box needing comb?
I guess I am questioning how long to leave the food on when I have...
where can you buy lecithin? Is that a GNC type of product?

How long will this concentrate recipe last? I have a small backyard operation and if this batch goes bad because I don't use it up, maybe I should make a smaller batch? Can you make the concentrate...

I appreciate all the input and opinions.

CORRECTION.
Those cells are at the bottom. I took another look at my pictures before I cropped them. They are at the bottom pointing down, so I guess they are swarm cells. Very interesting. ...
That wooden frame is the bottom of the frame not the top as earlier stated, the openings are pointing down. Hive population is good, about 5-7 frames of bees on a deep brood box.
I keep learning so much from this group reviewing my pictures I am just going to keep going.
Here is a link to some photo's with what looks like supercedure in action. Three queen cells, one of...
Great responses, thank you for the input. This looks like a strain I would like to keep going!

I lost my queen to some unknown problem at some point this winter. Here in North East Florida we have lizards out the wazoo.
I am wondering if there is any opinions on whether or not the guys in...
The first thing I thought of was fishing bait!
Ahh.. Freeze it.. Perfect. Then the bees will clean it out, and use th comb.
Thanks for the help with the ID.
So if I find these guys in the comb, what is the best option? Cut it out, scrape it clean?
Remove the frame?
Thanks again for such quick responses,
Chuck...
Here is a link to a picture on my blog with a worm I found my tray this am.
Any ideas on what it might be and what I should do about it?
Thanks,

Fellow Beekeepers,
I just want to pass along a good name I have come across in the North East Florida area.
John Peterson came through for me.
I was having some trouble with my hive that I...
Thanks for the input, hope it doesn't make the ole lady uncomfortable knowing they are ready to ditch her at any time. Hope my kids don't start polishing my casket one day.
I put a few pictures with questions on a blogspot site.
I am wondering if he top post is a swarm cell.
