Two swarms in one location.
I witnessed one of my hives swarm. I watched them collect in a pine tree to high to retrieve. Then about 15 minutes later, the hive next to the original hive swarmed and collected in the same location resulting in a very large swarm. Has anyone else ever seen this? Will the swarm become one and kill one of the queens? Or maybe leave at two different times? I just wish it was not to high to obtain. I have multiple nucs in the area with lemon grass oil in it. They never seem to like my swarm lures.
Re: Two swarms in one location.
As long as the queens don't find each other they will not rip each other apart.
Schawee (on youtube) found five queens in one swarm.
