Hello, I'm glad I found this site. Learning a lot. I'm 52 and going into my second year of beekeeping. I currently have six hives and hope to add several more this year. I have to say that this is the most interesting hobby I have ever had. Look forward to reading posts and learning even more from the many knowledgable beekeepers here.
Welcome to the site! 2013 will bee my first year. Set my hive stand legs in concrete today. Using galvanized pipe legs to hopefully prevent any ant or mouse problems. Set gate yesterday on my bear "excluder". Top braces next week end and hopefully start stretching electric fence wire the one after. Got beginner bee classes to go to also. It better bee a fun hobby 'cause it sure is taking a lot of my time and I have never seen the first bee! :-)

It sure has been exciting to me. Find a local bee club if you haven't already . We just started one less than a year ago and I think there were 50 + at our last meeting. It will keep your interest because you're always learning something new.
My wife and I are already in one. We meet monthly. Taking lessons too. I have visited a few apiaries as well.
