Making A Manual Dadant Extractor Powered?
I was given a extractor a couple years ago. It's an older model. I don't see a model # on it. I'm guessing it's a Junor Bench model since it only extracts 2 frames. It has pretty heavy duty stainless expanded wire mesh baskets. Is there anyway to convert this to power? I don't see a power kit on Dadants catalog or site.

If you are mechanically inclined, and I am not, do a search on here for treadmill. I recall, over the years, a few threads in which a recycled treadmill motor has been jury-rigged to an extractor in an effective manner. Treadmills turn up free on Craigslist quite often.

Here's a link to one of the more interesting treadmill powered extractor threads (with photos):

Treadmills typically have a variable speed motor and associated control system. This makes them more desirable than a motor that is fixed speed.

2 frames? Its a bit like installing nitrous on a Geo...
Re: Making A Manual Dadant Extractor Powered?
Nitro on a Geo is probably a lot easier to buy than a motor for Hambone's extractor .... :D
