Can anyone tell me how much a medium frame full of honey weighs? Thanks Steve
It will depend on how fat the bees draw it out, but they should average in the 3 to 4 pound range.
Four medium frames will usually give you a fat gallon of honey, which will weigh around 12 lbs.
Im trying to remember but I believe that my medium 10 framers weighed in around 52 pounds on the scale, that was box, frames and wax/honey.
4 pounds of honey
I just weighed five frames with honey and they ranged from 3.9 to 4.9lbs.I have two supers with honey that i haven't extracted yet.
DC are those mediums?
I did 3 deeps for a little more than a gallon.
You must mean three deep frames, not three deep boxes of comb, don't you?
Sfisher, yes they are mediums with plastic foundation.
Oops, yes Mark, 3 deep frames, not boxes. I mean, i was spinning my brood frames to get the ring of honey out of them.....
Done that myself.
