New beek from wisconsin rapids Wi

I got started this spring,when I bought some hives from a friend of my son. they were stored in a old shed for over 5 yrs. nasty ,cob webs,dirty,damaged comb and foundations. I sat them out and started cleaning and sorting the better stuff ,afew days later I saw some bees, about a week later (6-5-12) a swarm came in and went in one hive I have been enjoying them every since. not knowing a thing about them I learned a lot on this fourm and books, I am A retired carpenter so spend a lot of time with them pretty much leave them do their thing and they are doing great!
