We have a two story Nuc with a total of 8 deep frames that is doing well.
The bees are still drawing out some comb though.
It's getting filled with nectar, pollen and sugar syrup as they go.
Do I need to be concerned about them becoming over-crowded or swarming?
With what I'm seeing I would normally put on another super with four more frames but it is late in the season.
I may be able to take some unused drawn comb from the other hives if that is an option.
Allen, how many combs remain undrawn? If it just part of 1 or 2 I would leave it alone. I am not worried about swarming at this time of year.
A few foundation based frames are left that are 80% finished.
Most all of the frames are being back-filled with syrup/honey.
Allen, I would call it good enough and leave them alone. I would add the extra drawn combs in the spring as the population of a nuc in this configuration explodes very quickly, and then swarming becomes likely/inevitable without intervention
