New and doing the research
Hello
I live in southern Louisiana (zone 8B) and I am just starting. I obtain three Nucs in the last week of July and placed them in a ten frame deep all the frames had old drawn brood comb ( black as tar). So now for the steep learning curve and this is a great forum to learn. I will ask a lot of questions.

Welcome Let the learning and fun Begin
BTW
you say ...and placed them in a ten frame deep
I hope you placed them in the center of the Hive box
Re: New and doing the research
Yes sir. Took the frames out of the Nuc and placed them in the same order and in the center and then placed the drawn comb frames on each side. By the second week one of the hives had wax moth silk threads on two outside frames. I replaced those frames with follower boards and I have them in a freezer waiting for them to have more bees to cover the frames before I put them back. All three hives have very little capped honey with a little nectar and pollen.
