When to put on a robber screen?

Hello,

I installed two different packages this spring. One had a dead queen on arrival and we had to get a new queen.

We ended up with one strong hive and one weak. We stopped feeding the strong hive but continued feeding the weak hive which caused the weak hive to be robbed. We stopped feeding and want to install a robber screen.

Our question is; When is the right time of day to install the screen, early, late or it doesn't matter?

i put on after all bees are in so they have to leave thru it. dont know if it matters or not.

Thanks for the reply. I see you're in Shelby Twp. My two hives are in Romeo. Looking forward to a little relief from the heat tomorrow.

Most people put them on in the evening, or night, after all the bees are at home.
