Please Help Me Make This Frame Grip Tool Work Properly....
Attachment 2259Last week in a order, I received one of the more expensive hand grips used to grab a frame and pull it straight up from the hive box. This is the grip that is cast from aluminum or pot metal and very crudely ground by hand to make smooth on most rough edges. There is a spring in the center of the 2 halves of the handle that attaches to one side by way of a ground squared off tit. When it arrived the spring was missing, I called and one arrived today. The replacement spring slides all the way to the base of the square tit and even when bottomed out will not stay on the tit. These frame grip tools are very common and I doubt I am the first to have this problem. Any easy solution to make the spring stay on the tit? Thanks...

I would use glue or epoxy, nothing so strong you can't replace the spring if you need to. Or you could try a small piece of masking tape on the tit to keep it a tight fit. I have the cheap ones.

I will trade you! I just never have broke down and bought a pair of those, The springs on the cheap ones wear out.
