Should I have any trouble identifying pollen filled cells?
I went thru the hive, recording what I saw. I 'm not sure I saw any pollen. I saw them bringing it in their saddlebags, but don't know what it looks like stored. Googling for images shows something hard to mistake, but I'm having no luck spotting it in the hive. Suggestions?

Hmmm, should be pretty obvious. It should also be located in cells above the brood and below the honey. And it will be different colors depending on the source. Look again.

Its the packed cells on the outside of the brood area that are not capped. Usually a variety of color!! Looks like someone packed a cell with playdoh!!

So the cap will appear concave? - Mike

Here is a utube video which will show you the various things to look for. Pollen shows up in the cells in different colors, pollen is not capped per-say. Sometimes said to be capped in the cells under larva, but not sure of that.

There's no capping. Think of cooking cupcakes that don't rise up enough to dome out. Should be recessed a little bit, kind of solid looking like cooked batter. Various colors, yellow. orange, reddish, brown.
