I've seen this type feeder mentioned several times. Is it just a ziploc bag with some holes in it? Sounds messy. I also read to sand down a couple of bars to give the bees access to the area on top of the bars. Should this gap be on the side of the follower board with the bees or on the other side? There is room around my follower for bees to get to both sides.
Have you had a look around the rest of the site besides the forum? A lot of info there. :)

No need to sand down top bars for bee space. If the frame rest are cut to the correct dimensions there is proper bee space on the top, even if you used plywood as an inner cover.
