Beekeeping is a facinating hobby or business. This is my first year too. I have one hive that I was able to split into two and captured a swarm from inside a discarded used tire. All three are doing great inspite of a severe drought, the worst on record. I learned a lot from David Burns of Long Lane Honey Bees http://www.honeybeesonline.com/servlet/StoreFront He has bee keeping lessons and a lot of good info. The beeks here are also a great great source of info for newbees like us! Some have been at it for decades.
Good Luck,
Mark
