My friend called me about a 1/2 grown larvae.
I drove out to his organic farm to see what he was talking about.
He has been fogging his bees.
I picked up off the landing board a whit larvae about 1/4" long. I do not need reading glasses. I asked him if he knew what those 3 round reddish "things" are?
He said that he was not sure. I explained to him that the items on the larvae were mites!
I am giving him a Russian SMR daughter queen to help him out and to increase the desireable drones in the area.

Sound like the bees have good hygenic behavior
The daughter queen in my posting was grafted from # 12 Russian X SMR that I bought from Tom & Suki Glenn two years ago.
# 12 has provided many grafted off spring.
Yes, the Russians do have good hygenic behavior.
They have a natural resistance to Nosema also.
