Nice job!

Great detail, descriptions and photos. VERY well written. Thanks for the effort explaining everything!

hey ross do you plan on or are you going to walk us through the hole plan on making an observation hive i really hope so
I second that............ Nice instructions.
It will take some time. I thought I would do the key parts first for those that know how to do basic box building already, then go back and pull it together into a finished hive. There are, of course, a thousand ways to make the outside box and finish it. The inside are pretty straight forward. I'll try to post somemore this weekend. The OB hive has a queen now and she appears to be starting to lay. They are sucking down a pint of syrup every 3 days.
Ok. Chapter two is done and posted. Slightly re-organized with a title page now.
My Dad is building on and I was telling him of these plans for a center pivot entrance. Now I can't remember how to do it. Seems there was some sort of plumbing fixture that worked for this.
it's the piece that comes out of the bottom of a sink
called a tail piece I think
I built mine like that and it works great
I'm lucky and my wife does stained glass and made me a glass washer to sit in the joint and take the load:)

Here are the parts I have done....
