I had the fun of putting together my first beehive today. Took about twice as long as I figured it would, but everything went smoothly. Then I said to myself, I have to put HOW MANY frames together? Yikes! Such is the labor of love I suppose http://www.beesource.com/ubb/smile.gif Makes the preassembled equipment seem like a bargain.
Anyways, I only have to put together the bottom board, hive stand, and telescoping cover. I have a few different sized nails left and I'm not sure which to use where and how many to use. Can anybody who has put a standard kit together lend a hand? Thanks in advance
Take a look at the following 2003 catalogs:
. . . Mann Lake, page 18
. . . Walter T Kelley, page 13
Both explain which nails go where.
For assembling the frames you might want
to download these plans and build the frame jig. Sure does making frames easier and a whole lot faster.
