I thought you may be a ham operator.I never did get the code down,after a while it all runs together for me.I do find it interesting you mentuoned the Tram i love the tube radios I run a Browning Mark III with an old Wilson Shooting Star.Have a Kenwood 430s Great old radio too.
How much work is it to get an FCC licence to operate CBs?

You do not need a license to operate a Cb.
now if you want to get into Amature Radio (Ham)it is a different deal.I am not sure what the requirements are anymore.But you can go to the ARRL site and find out.Here it is www.arrl.org/
