not sure if this will get back to you, have never used messaging this way. I used Maqs once, not according to the directions and had no problem( I used one pad and 10 days later used a second pad), most of my post that were negative were the results of two of my friends that used them for a couple of years. Some years they worked just fine, twice both suffered large losses of queens and the hives didn't make replacement queens, but they were used in hotter weather. They both switched to using Apiguard, but did use one pad of Maqs in the summer without any problems and there hives look really good. I'm not sure how the pads will work in the colder weather as I have never tried them then, but there were some posts on beesource about people using them in colder weather.

Ill also copy this message to where I normally send message and send it from there, also I've tried to fulfil the friend request doesn't appear to work, not sure what I'm doing wrong. good luck mike

Mike, my name is Tracy from an hour north of Utica. NY. This is My first year with bees, and I just applied MAQS today 10/13/15. I have been reading an old thread where you commented, and was wondering your thoughts on MAQS now, since this thread was in 2012. I hope i havent hurt my bees, from what I am reading the mild temperatures May help me .
    Thanks
    Tracy hand.
