Well, Merlyn, the Southern Oregon Coast had rain until mid June. I kept feeding my bees until then. The blackberry flower were many because of the extra rain and the bees were ready. What a crazy year this was. It was a real intense honey flow. The girls wasted no time in packing it in. Hope things even out a little this year. But they are saying wetter than usual. I've live here for 23 years and I still haven't figured out what they mean by "usual". Have a good Thanksgiving....Corinne

:thumbsup:Sorry I haven't answered sooner but I just found your message. There is more to this BEESOURCE than I ever knew plus I took first place in the WORLDs DUMBST Computer person contest. We had a hot summer but the bees and the Lord was good to me. It is not unusal for a few hot days here but we had 2 months of it this year and a lot of beekeepers did not do very good but I fed mine and they did very good. What is the difference between organic honey and natural honey? If you think the eggs are hard to find wait until you get my age and they will be a lot smaller. I am 71 .Most of the time I just look for capped brood.

We just got bees this year. We had them when I was like two. I got in the hive today for the first time. We saw the queen in one of them. The eggs were ten times smaller than I thought they would be. They are hard to see. The egg patterns are pretty good though. Do you know the difference between organic honey and natural honey?

Just to let you know Merlyn, May 19th and it is still raining here one the Souhern Oregon Coast. I had heard beekeeping was a little rough here because of the moisture. Hope things clear up and warm up soon.
