Hey! I live right up the road from you in Toney. I like your hives. My job sends me out of town periodically so I didn't get a chance to paint a few hive parts. I might try to coat them with some wax later this year.

Thanks for the info! I had called Toria, and she told me that they no longer have meetings due to a lack of members, so I'll try to go to a nearby county's beekeeper meeting when I am able to (the day job really gets in the way of my hobbies!).

Hello Rohe Bee Ranch! I'm new to beekeeping, so I have yet to attend any meetings, join any organizations, etc., so I'm open to any & all suggestions! Good to meet you!

Hello, Rohe Bee Ranch! I have visited the Madison County Association's mini-page from the ABA site several times. Y'all have a good set of programs going. My nephew is with the Madison County Fire & Rescue (he grew up there, married locally, and never left), so I'm in the area occasionally. Nice to meet you!

Yes I'm a member of both. However I have moved to Texas City, Tx for work. I still have my hives in Athens area and Doug Rainey is keeping them up for me util I return in a few years. Doug is a member in both organizations also. I heard yall had a "barn burner" of a meeting the last time, (attempted take over by radical elements that don't even have hives). Anyway I plan on working in Texas for 3 or 4 years and returning to Athens.
