Hello Ian I was watching one of your videos and in it you were asked what protein supplement you used in the spring. You stated your Alltech rep had found you a really good product but when you said what it was I just couldn't understand what the name was. Would you be willing to let me know what it's called? Tries to P.M. you but your messages were full.

Wife and I have been watching your Youtube videos this fall. Very informative. Thanks for putting in the time and for the candor also. There are lots of people on Youtube showing how to do more harm than good. Nice to see others farmer beekeepers who know bees are livestock!

Threshold usuall used is 1m spore count.
Like I said I have found fumagillin to actually increase counts longer term.
That's all I can say about this, the decision is yours

Honey crop was half. If my bees would have looked this good in June as they do now it might have been a good year. Lots of chalk brood. Bottom line as with any livestock they do better when there is not a drought on.

i have a yard with Nosema C. Foragers tested 2 million spores. Nurse bees tested 300K spores. Should I treat them this fall or not? Thanks.

I have not gotten back my samples yet , I'm not treating this fall... First time in years...
From my in house trials I'm finding the fumagillin actually increases the counts after a few months as compared to non treated. I think the Noseama C is the difference to what I had found earlier when treating Nosema A.

How was your crip this year ?

If you had a yard with 2 million nosema c spores (tested in July) would you treat them now or not? Thanks.

    Hi Ian

I've seen above and below $200. A nuc should be worth at least what a package is in my opinion. I am selling for $190. Three frames of bees with no queen $160ish would seem fair to me.

I keep forgetting to tell you about my sample results from the lab this past October. No nosema. No treac. Massive percent of varroa. Some as high as 93%. I OV treated just before they were wrapped up. I will sample the worst ones in the spring.
