Hi. We are new to beekeeping this year, we live in upstate NY close to the Vermont border. We were inspecting the hives today and noticed in the bottom of the medium super there is larva outside of the cells. probably about 1/2 thumb in length. What should we do? Is this normal? Thanks for any help.
not sure what you mean ? do you mean half of the larvae was hanging out of the cell ? if that's it is is more than likely that when you picked up the frame the cells were torn open. Bees often build burr comb on the bottom of the frame and put drone brood there.
