I found 2 wax moth larva outside of a nuc this after noon (along with a black widow). The widow had a dead wax moth in her web but there were 2 larva crawling around. Anyone ever heard of such a thing? The little things were too fat and caught up in the widows web to get through the screen. I rechecked all the frames really carefully and couldn't find any evidence (or none I could see yet) of wax moth damage. There was some wax and pollen on the top of a 4x4 stand leg that had fallen through the screen from the nuc that had webs on it. I assumed it was from the widow but could it possibly have been where the 2 wax moth larva came from?

Here's a pic. The larva is on the bottom right of the circle.

Yes. In fact the 2 supers I had stored in my dad's garage had wax moth larva inside and outside of the hive bodies, they were EVERYWHERE. It was really a sad site to see, plus all the honey on the floor of his shop. Heck, some larva even died in the honey pool.
