This colony of bees was a captured swarm that was placed in this new (empty) hive on 9 April 2011. By 25 April they had drawn 14 bars of near perfect comb, and had capped brood and honey stored throughout. On 2 May, it swarmed and what you see are bees from the remaining colony. Inside we observed several capped queen cells, capped brood, including areas of drone brood, and capped honey/sugar syrup. I thought, because of the frantic activity around the entrance seen at the beginning of this video, that it was about to swarm again.
Incidentally, the swarm that left on 2 May was captured and placed in another hive nearby. They are building comb like crazy.
