Mating Yards

Was Wondering How many mating yards do most of you Queen breeders have???

and how many mating nuc do you usually run in your yards


I'm making a spread sheet and need some input

I also have a question or 2. How far from the mating nucs do you put the drone mother hives. Also how close in 1 yard do you put hives for shaking bees to take to other yards? Thanks

All my mating nucs are in my home yard. I have about 100 of them at the peak of the season.

Mine are usally just scattered about the yard I think this may help with mating nuc orenation. I dont have no trouble with this arangment.

I had a 100 mating nuc in this yard and about 5 fullsize colonies
until a bear came along and I move the bees out of the yard


The Drone Mother Colinies were in 4 yards frome 1.5 miles North then 2 were 2 miles 1 east and 1 South
East then the last was about 3.5 South west
