There are a number of queen rearing 'kits' and methods available from the various suppliers. I would like to ask for folks evaluations and opinions on these kits. Which work best, etc...

We prefer the Jenter Kit, but are not sure if we will be carrying it, the Nicot or both for 2010.

I have the Jenter and like it, but that's not to say the others don't work just as well. Do the Hopkins method and you'll save grafting and money. :)

Or an even simpler method:

Or the Miller method:

I use the NICOT unit bought from Mann Lake. It's taken me a few years to perfect my methods. Once I figured it out, it works great.

One of our local guys bought the NICOT unit and was met with frustrations, so he asked me how I used mine.

I wrote up my plan that I gave him, then edited it for distribution to anyone who would like a copy.

If you'd like a free copy (even if you don't use the unit), send me an e-mail to twentyfivehives@yahoo.com and put "NICOT" in the subject line. I'll reply with an attachment.

I moved my manuscript to a web site so you don't have to send me an e-mail. Everyone can have access to it now.

Simply click here: http://www.nicot.homestead.com

The site contains simple instructions on how I make my Nicot unit work. This isn't the last word, just sharing how I do it.
