Last Friday and Saturday we had the annual Empire State Honey Producers Association Fall Meeting at Syracuse, NY. It was well attended, though there is always room for more. Just about every seat in the meeting room was occupied.

I don't have the agenda here w/ me now, but we had an Apiary Inspection report from Paul Cappy, NYS Apiculturalist and two talks by Jerry Hayes, FL State Apiculturalist, one on Pollinator Decline and the other was a "Classroom" session w/ questions and answers. We had two talks from NC, via internet, which worked well and was an interesting way to solve the problem of having a speaker who otherwise would have been absent due to the flu. He talked about Queen Quality.

There were a number of other talks that I can't recall at this time. Chats out in the hall and at the bar and at the banquet were quite enjoyable too. Some years I could go just for that reason.

Next year we want to have workshops and want to get more beekeepers to attend. Which I'm sure is true of other organizations too.

I enjoyed Peter Borst's picture presentation and the Doc who spoke about the wonderful health value of honey as well...
