A few weeks ago we had to put down our 12 year old Cockapoo. We also have a Golden Retriever that is 4. It was a very sad day. Yesterday we purchased "Daisy" a 7 week old first generation merle Cockapoo. She's a great puppy and promises to be a wonderful pet. I thought I'd share a picture with you.

We have an 8 month old Golden Retriever also. Our second. Best dogs ever, especially around kids. Tonight he greeted all the Trick-or-Treaters at the front door with that tail wagging about 3000 rpm! :D:D:D

Pretty dogs. I would buy that small one, just so I could tell everyone what kind of dog it is. :)

Go Packers!!!!

That would be a cockatiel. :) Had a breeding pair of those a few years ago.

Ginger (the Golden) is the first time I've ever had that breed and is she wonderful dog.

Too bad for the Packers.....happy for Bret.

She's very cute. The 16th is right around the corner. Have you named her yet?

I just finished making my basement office into a puppy play/jail. Now I can get some work done and she can be close. If I build a little pen around the window I won't even have to go up to let her out.

I tried leaving her upstairs yesterday and all she did was wine/screech/bark.... I couldn't concentrate so I gave in. Now she's sleeping on a little bed behind me so I'll be able to keep whatever mind I have left focused on my tasks.

Have a great day,
Fred

I meant to tell you that your puppy was quite cute, sorry I forgot

Yes we have named her, her name is Elwynn. I own her dad and if she is anything like her dad she will be great.

They're all great lookin' pups but I'm not the best judge---I'm a sucker for all puppies! I'd give blue ribbons all around.:)
Next week I'll be spending a few days with friends who have a litter of four Cairn Terriers that are just hitting that really active stage. I can't wait. Both of my dogs are firmly into middle age, now, but both of them love puppies.

Is Max a beardie?

Max is an Aussedoodle, half Australian Sheppard and half standard Poodle. Basically he is an expensive mutt. We wanted a dog that was friendly, smart and doesn't shed and Aussedoodle was one of the dogs on the list. I wanted a wire haired pointing griffon but was out voted based on cuteness. Very happy with Max, he is an excellent dog. He loves sitting on the rock in our front yard and watch the world go by. I am installing the electric fence this weekend.

My sister had a Cairn Terrier. She was a great dog. I watched her hunt and catch many animals including fish. And once we watched her hunt and catch a mole in over a foot of snow.

I sent your cockapoo pic to my wife. Big mistake. All my 4 yr old girl wants Santa to bring her is a puppy. Between the beat down that her and my wife have been giving me over it I finally caved. The breeder won’t have the cockapoo’s ready until mid Jan. but the have Cavapoo’s. (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle)

(I will never email my wife again)

Wannabee did you get your puppy and if so, how's she doing?

So what did you decide to do?

Here's a couple of pics from a couple weeks ago. The two are inseparable.

Picked up the Cavapoo on the 23rd. I don't think the dogs legs have hit the ground yet.

A dog thread just makes me want to post!

My wife and I rescue poodles with Poodle Rescue League of New England. Never thought we'd have dogs as she is allergic to dog fur. Poodles have hair instead of fur so we ended up with one years ago.

Last week, we fostered another dog. We have five of our own but there's always room for more. The call came in that a poodle was in a shelter in the western part of MA. and was a day away from being put down. He's about 1 1/2 years old. We took him through the organization and got his health checked, got him chipped and neutered and we're starting the evaluation of this wonderful dog. Someone will adopt him in the near future and they will be the luckiest family.

Over the past few years we've seen 12 foster dogs come into our home and later get adopted permanently. We've had dogs that were abused, abandoned or just (often tearfully) given up due to family issues. The dog we had before this had health problems at nine years old. She had pneumonia, five impacted teeth, two lesions and was suffering from heartworm. After months with us, she recovered from everything and was just joyfully adopted by a family many miles from us. Word is, she spend her first night with her new family by sleeping in their bed. That's how great a dog she is.

We've had puppies and 12 year old dogs. We had a dog that we fostered the same day she tragically lost one of her eyes. We've had big ones and little ones.

It sure is hard to see them go when they get adopted but it makes room for the next one(s) that need a little help.

It's great to see all these pictures here on this thread and to see all of you who make a pretty big space in their hearts and their homes for an animal who gives every piece of their lives to the family that they live with. I just know, deep in my heart, that when my day comes, they'll all.....every one of them.....be waiting for me. Thanks very much for this thread.
