There are certainly many good ways to raise queens. After many years of hit and miss, trial and error, I think I've figured out the Nicot queen rearing kit sold by Mann Lake.
A local beekeeper bought one of these units and tried to raise some queens this past year. Unfortunately, he came away confused and disappointed. So I wrote up a day-by-day, blow-by-blow, step-by-step method of how I make this unit works for me.
If anyone else would like a free copy of this method, send me an e-mail to twentyfivehives@yahoo.com and I'll reply with the attached Word file. Beesource.com won't let us send attachments so e-mail me "off-list."
