Greetings fellow beeks:
I opened my hive yesterday to put some sugar syrup in the top feeder...and I noticed that mold had formed on the inside of the wall of the shallow hive body I use to cover the feeder. Nowhere else, just that one spot on the inside.
I think it may have been where I splashed some syrup there a couple of weeks ago, and it has been raining here for a week...and ungodly humid too, so I know that's helping to make the mold form.
I plan to take the shallow body off on Saturday and spray it with bleach and leave it in the sun to kill the mold spores and to let it air out.
Any of you ever run ino this problem before? This is the first time I've see this. Any help would be most appreciated.
