What a sight see all the drones being tossed out. I have a short video but it looks like I can't post it

Loved the video -- Today, I noticed that my girls were tossing their drones out as well. I actually felt sorry for the drones. They had a comfortable summer and a nice warm place and now it all changed. ;)

I always feel sorry for the drones as well. I console myself that if they would help out around the house more, they'd probably be allowed to stay!
Great video!

I don't know....they have a pretty good life. Thousands of females taking care of their every need, and the only work they do is trying to mate with royalty! :p 'Course that's what makes the end so sad when they get tossed from the lap of luxury, not knowing what hit 'em!

Oh my gawd! That day when males have some serious female payback to deal with. Male humans should pay close attention to this video. I am still mystified by the power of that WASP propaganda video that this very forum brought to my attention. Remember where they made it look like honeybees were responsible for their infestation and stings. Made me think twice I am here to tell you.

Yes they did but in the end the workers will win out
My sons and I had a great discussion on how to treat the ladies. We all decided we didn't want to be drones and that the only way to be happy is to make mom happy. Another great lesson from the hive.

:lpf: Teaching them those kind of lessons while they're young will certainly benefit them and put them ahead of the other young men during their dating years. Also a good lesson about tradeoffs and instant gratification....the drones have a good life, then get kicked out; while the workers spend their time working hard instead and earn the right to stay.

The bee hive is a metaphor for life if you watch them. The bees all work for the benefit of the hive, drones too. Remove any one element , queen, drone, worker, and the hive ceases to exists. Humans add traits to bees that they don't have. Drones are not "lazy," they are make for a very important single purpose. For the hive to survive the drones need to go in the fall, more will be produced in the spring. Whether they mate with a queen on not drones are ready to give up their lives for the good of the hive as all the other bees will do. I had a bear take down my hives several days in a row. Did the bees sit around and wait for welfare to help them? did they wallow in self pity going " why me"? No, they when right to work putting their lives back together. On a lighter note, I tell people I am on of the biggest employers of females in South Berwick, I have about 100,000 or more working for me, room and board included and the pay is sweet too. That's enough for now ,my finger is tired from typing.
