I live in west central NC-zone #7. When is it too late to requeen in the fall? Is it too late already? I'd like to buy 2 or 3 good quality queens to replace queens in my hot hives. I always seem too busy in early spring.

I don't think it is- I'm going to do it this weekend. You'll have a break in rearing brood, which is good varroa mite control.

To requeen with a mated queen is fine, there won't bee too much of a brood break and should still be able to keep populations up for winter buildup. Requeening now will give you calm bees in the spring.
