Moving supers from hive to hive.

I am going to be moving some supers to a split I made earlier in the year so they have enough stores for winter. When I do the move do I leave the bees that are in the supers or do I shake them off?

I would remove the bees from the super before putting on split. Or if you want to reduce the population of the donor hive and increase the split use newspaper combine. If they are in the same yard most of the old bees will go back to there original location.
