First of all..this forum rocks...Second.....my two Gulags are doing WELLL.....started with 4 FILLED NUC frames (than one kind of lagged behind) TODAY.....6 frames are filled and have white Caps (please bear with my terminology)....the bees kind of swarmed the outside of both boxes a couple times last week (ii think that was the new bees trying their wings.. Right?? - yes the blonde is showing through)...The Queen Cell the Gulag North had built is now empty.. and i see a bunch of the white roundy larvae things ...soo....I think the new queen has arrived...long live the queen.......NOW>>>FOR THE QUESTION...they are going through a mason jar of the sugar syrup every day and a half...should i keep refilling or keep them to 2 or 3 times a week?? (we have fields and fields of organic soybeans close by blooming (?) (no pesticides...these guys are great) and lots of summuer/fall golden rod flowers... I did not fill up their sugary mason jar for 3 days (fam emergency) and when i came back the hive was totally active bees coming in and out...PLEASE ADVISE on the sugar syrup...(thank all of you in advance for putting up with me..)

If I May;

Beekeeping is Local, Local, Local !

What works for me a thousand miles away may not work for you !

My suggestion this time of year would bee to feed a new hive with 2-1 Syrup continusely till they have at least 10 frames of Honey stored away.

Now your in Florida, that is a completely different area.

Find someone LOCAL, they know what has been and what to expect.
