replacement element????

3/4 done my extraction and down goes the plane!

Anyone replaced the element in their uncapping plane?

I've unscrewed the connector at the element but was afraid to pull at the wires, and can't see how they disconnect.

Anyone sell them in Canada?

When I bought my electric uncapping knife, the guy who runs the bee supply place told me a little tip in case it stopped working. He said the connections go bad sometimes, and if the knife stops working, to take the flat of the blade and smack it down hard on a board. He said this will often restore the connection, and the knife works like new again.

If it's a maxant,They are on this forum.Send them a pm or e-mail.There is no thermostat so the connection should be pretty basic.Mines about 20 yrs old,still going.
