Can anyone give me any suggestions on cleaning up chalk brood? I have a
yard with 28 hives in it and over 8 hives have chalk brood. Is there anything that I can do to get it out of our hives? Is it the queens or the equipment?

Its ventalation, chalkbrood is caused by humidity in the hive. Screen bottom boards, or ventilated lids will help.

Keep your colonies in full sun, on stands that are not less than 6 inches tall, do your best to have strong adult populations going into winter/spring and requeen the problem colonies. In severe cases replace the comb.

It helps the colony to overcome the disease if you remove the combs with large amounts of mummies and replace with sealed brood from the healthy colonies. Often if you have a tracheal mite problem and the bees can not control the cluster temps chalk brood occurs.

Requeen from another source. There was a long thread within the last month on this topic. In there I explained how I went from having it bad every year to having not seen any for the past 5 years. Requeen from another breeder.

I can vouch for Old Sol, Strachan's and Honey Run.
