View Full Version : moths in my storage bee boxes.

hi. i bought some extra used bee boxes and frames. i put them in my storage shed for 2 weeks and after that i was going to put them some where else. when i was moving the boxes i found the I HAD A TON of moths on the bee boxes and the frames.. what should i do??? should i use any chemicles?? i am a beginner in beekeeping. please help me with any info.. thanks

freezing for 24 hours will kill the moths, larva, and eggs.

Sealing in a plastic bag and treating with para moth balls.

Contact "Sundance" here in the forums and get some BT powder and spray the frames.

store out in open sunlight, tip the boxes up to face the sun. The moths like it warm and dark. This works best if done early in the year before the wax moths get a head start on the frames.
