It depends on you goals.
1;1 for stimulation.
2:1 for putting on winter weight.
Perhaps a local beekeeper wil chime in and advise you.
I am feeding the following ratio:
2 & 1/2 gallons of water + 25 pounds of granulated cane sugar. (I changes the ratio to 2 gallons and one quart : 25 pounds of sugar)
My goals:
Draw out foundation, brood frames for summer/fall divides and add weight for winter.
My winters are mild and I can feed using the division board feeder for fast feeding or a plastic pail on top of the hive for slower stimulative feeding.
Pollen patties are fed as needed.
Today I am feeding 3 patties to my stronger hives.
Regards,
Ernie
