I am in Wisconsin at about your same latitude. We had a strange honey flow after the dandelion, and before the Locust. I think it may have been wild cherry trees. The honey is darker, although I would not describe it as cinnamon like.
What was blooming when the honey was gathered?

Chokecherry trees give what might be considered a cinnamon off taste to honey. It's best to avoid it if you can. At least it does in my area.

Absolutely amazing, you mean no one has intentionally tried to taste formic acid or fumagilin to be able to detect the taste when the residues causes honey contamination?:eek::(

Well you should have removed and stopped early enough befor the honey flow. to worry about chemicals in the honey from what you gave.
