I used them when I was like 10 years old :scratch:I belive you put four boxes together then slide a foundation in all for at on time.then you set that four boxes in a certain type of frame and then that whole set up make a frame to put in the super.some were there shoud be some spings to keep the boxes tight together.sry if I not right that was thirty years ago.Back when I could get my bee supplies from sears :pinch:

Where did you get them?? Out of storage someplace or do they still make them? If you are looking to make comb honey I would read a few books first. Using those boxes is not for the novice.

Just checked their catalog and they do still carry them! I thought Kelley was the only producer of these still around. The best comb honey book I know is by Richard Taylor. Read up first or you will disappointed.

Boy, this does bring back old memories! I had forgotten that Sears used to sell bee supplies! Can't remember if I got any from them or not. If so, I'll bet I still have some of their frames.
I just threw out some of those old, dirty boxes, and the very thin wood that would go between the rows of them, and the springs on the side. Used to have to wet the joint of the boxes so they could be bent up to a 90 degree angle without breaking. Had a tool from my grand-dad that would help make that bend - or at least I think that's what it did.
