...i still have found no queen and have no new brood. Should i give them more time to see if a new queen emerges?
Or should I purchase a new one?

Do you see capped or cut open queen cells? Swarm cells will be on the bottom of the frames. Look closely too. The bees can cover these cells and makes it hard to see them. Lightly blow on the bottom of the frames and the bees will move so you can get a good look.

Also, the queen that is most likely there is a virgin and she may not have gone on her mating flight yet. Are they bringing in pollen? That is typically a sign that a queen is present. What is their attitude. Queenless hive typically get angry. I bet a queen is there. When was the last time you inspected?

It takes 16 days for the bees to raising a new queen and 4-5 days before she is old enough to go out and meet the guys.
If you can’t find eggs two weeks after the swarm left the hive give them a frame with eggs from a other hive (but brush all bees of). If your hive has no queen you will find queen cells on them 4-5 days later.

Don’t buy a queen, breed your own, that’s more fun with beekeeping.

It'll take more time for her to get going, but you have to keep an eye on the hive. I had a swarm a few weeks ago. I should see eggs right about now. My eyesight is poor so I have trouble seeing eggs. I have to wait and look for larvae or capped cells. If the new queen didn't make it back from her flight, I'll need to re-queen. This WAS a booming hive and time starts to run out here in New England pretty quick. Any hive that has swarmed is worth watching until it gets back to a normal condition.
